Battle.net client not working (waiting on a stuck update).

Blizzard... oh Blizz.
Regardless on how much money you get paid, it is kinda lame that you can't even sort out stuff on your side, fix whats needed and smooth your users experience when it comes to bugs.

But since this is not a letter for them, lets get started.
You are reading this cause...

Your "PLAY" button is disabled for any Blizz game thanks to a "update being applied".
At the top left corner of your BNet launcher (right below the Bnet logo) you should see an empty micro progress bar... thats where the party is happening at. Click on the Bnet logo there and you'll get your prompted menu... where at its bottom you will see the status of the tricky update at 0%.

See, Bnet launcher for some reason has issues lately when it comes to updates, and thanks to that no game can be played before the launcher upadte, it gets messy since the damn progress bar is so small and empty that you don't even get what is updating and such or worse... how to fix it, you close and reopen it so many times... and still no luck.

SOLUTION:

Mac:
a) Close your Bnet launcher.
b) Go into your Utilities folder and launch the "activity monitor" app.
c) When it opens, click on the "Process Name" bar so you can re-order the contents alphabetically.
d) Follow this instructions to force quit the  so called "Agent" process listed in your activity monitor (it actually has and shows the battle.net logo when listed).
e) Click here to download the manual Bnet patch files, and extract them into:

 /<your hard drive>/Users/Shared/Battle.net   (accept/confirm any replacement warnings).

And ready, open your Bnet launcher and let it update.

-------------

PC:
It's almost the same process BUT... it is Winsucks... so there are few bits to take care of.

a) Close launcher
b) Yes, Ctrl+Cmd+Supr to open your task manager window.
c) Yes, kill your listed Agent.exe process.
NEW!) Wait AT LEAST 30 seconds to keep on with this... believe it or not.
d) Download the manual patch files HERE
e) Extract and put them :

  1. Windows VistaWindows 7Windows 8Windows 10C:\ProgramData\Battle.net
  2. Windows XPC:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Battle.net

f) If you can't see the folder , you must enable "Show hidden files and folders" first, here is a link to find out how to do that depending on your Windows version: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/6231

And ready, restart your launcher and let it update.

Cheerios.
